Cycling Wisconsin's North Coast on Beautiful Lake Superior !
Please join us for what’s considered the most unique fat bike race in Wisconsin. It’s an entire race on ice across Chequamegon Bay on the southwest shore of Lake Superior. The event follows the course of Book Across the Bay, which takes place the previous day on Feb. 19.
Registration and check-in will start at 10:00 A.M.(Pre-registration encouraged Bikereg.com/bike-across-the-bay) on Feb. 20 at the Harborview Event Center at 130 Harbor View Drive in Washburn. Directions: Turn on Second Avenue West of Highway 13 (also known as Bayfield Street). Please follow the signs.
The race starts at 12 Noon from the Harborview Event Center. Pre-register online or in person starting at 10:00 am. There is a 10k distance and 20k distance for male and female categories. First place winners will be awarded for each category for each distance.
Please note that this is a fat bike race. Studded tires are recommended, but not required. Riders are expected to be familiar with riding on ice and snow. An alternate route is planned in the event of poor ice conditions. Ebikes are prohibited. Please do not come if you are feeling ill. A current vaccine card or recent test must be available at check in.
There will be a gathering after the race at the Harborview Event Center, current Covid restrictions apply, which will include an awards ceremony and cash bar.
